Be careful what you say…

The concept of speech is awesome, in my opinion. We conjugate sounds to identify wants, needs, people, or items. With a simple whisper we can brighten someone’s day. One would think that we would be more cautious with what we said to each other. But, all to often, we spout out words of hate and pain in the hopes of injuring our victim as much as we were hurt. Why? Is revenge really that important to us? Are we willing to sacrifice our friends instead of swallowing our pride?

I like the saying “Your life will reflect what you are focused on.” If we are focused on positive things, then we will reflect that in our actions and in our words. How often do we use negative words? How often do we send thanks to those around us? We should make it a point to be a source of positivity. We don’t need to spread rainbows and butterflies everyday. And, above all, we should never fake happiness. If we’re down, we’re down. We are human. It’s OK to get down, just as long as we get back up. Sometimes, saying nothing is the best thing to say.Trust me. Our words will show what attitude we really have. Sarcasm has a strange way of sneaking out. There is nothing worse than spouting ill words to someone, then finding out that those were your last words to them. We do not always have tomorrow. It is not promised to us. This is why it is important to weigh what we are about to say. “Is it worth saying?”

Thanks for taking the time to read, and may we always bring a smile to each others face.

Beautiful post! When emotions are stirred it is so challenging NOT to be sarcastic or angry or upset and out comes flying words you regret later on. My intention is to Live by example, and when on the High Road, it is still quite easy to come tumbling down, especially when tired or stressed or overwhelmed. Really enjoyed your words, and my Heart just smiles knowing there is someone in this world who strives to live with high moral standards!! Good for you!!! Love, Amy ❤
