Life is chaotic. There is no rhyme or reason as to why things happen. It just does. We try to orchestrate life. We categorize this and that. We stack, inventory, and clean this world up. We even place laws into effect, just to keep order. But at the end of the day we still cannot perfectly predict the weather for next Tuesday. We had no idea that we would accidently run a red light while we rushed to work. Who could have predicted the other traffic would be so eager to go when they had the green light? One car wreck later, and we realize just how messy life can be. Love is exactly like that. It’s messy, chaotic, and awesome.
People have always searched for the meaning of life. I’ve always seen this as a false search. What they should be searching for is the meaning of love. Life and love have a symbiotic relationship. It is impossible to have one without the other. Love is kind, humble, jealous, and protective. Love is the fire in the soul that gives us passion. Love is more contagious than the common cold. It starts of slow and warm. The more we feed it the bigger it grows, until one day we notice that we no longer need to feed the fire. Once love matures, it fuels itself. Love cannot be hidden. A person that loves, will express love in everything that they do. Every life that they touch will be effected.
Love is so precious. Alfred Lord Tennyson is quoted as saying “‘Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” The pain of a love lost is one of the most top pains, in life, we will ever endure. So why do we pursue love if it can cause so much pain? The answer can be found in the joy and the happiness that love brings. Even medically speaking, a person in love will be happier and less sick than a person that is not in love. So, I implore you not to search for the meaning of life, but rather the meaning of love. For they are the same.
Thanks for taking the time to read, and may we always find the meaning of love.
